Jiddat Web Desk ::The chairman of the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) said that the system through which overseas Pakistan will be able to cast their votes in by-polls is ready. While talking to media, chairman NADRA, Usman Mobin said that he doesn’t know if the developed system will be used in the by-polls. However, the system is ready. “The registration process of the overseas Pakistanis to vote in the by-polls in underway,” chairperson of NADRA added.
While talking to media, Mr Usman said that during the general elections in the country, the Result Management System (RTS) —used by the Election Commission of Pakistan to transmit the election results rapidly—never crashed on any stage.
Babar Yaqoob, the secretary of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) said on August 17 that the overseas Pakistani will be able to cast their votes in the by-polls. The Supreme Court of Pakistan gave the Election Commission of Pakistan the green signal on last Friday to go ahead with this project.
Mr Yaqoob told the media that the apex court of the country had ordered that if there are any doubts about the casted votes, they will be rejected. But until then, we plan to count the votes, he had said
