New Bahawalpur Railway Station expected to complete by the 30th of April this year.

Jiddat Web Desk  ,Feb 17,2018 ::New Bahawalpur Railway Station to Complete by April 30 ,Capt. (Retd) Saqib Zafar—the Commissioner Bahawalpur Division led a meeting which was conducted to discuss the progress of the development and construction work at the Railway Station Bahawalpur. The new station is expected to complete by April 30’2018.The commissioner issued the instructions to the respective officers to complete the construction work on time so that the updated facility could be made available for the benefit of people.He added that the infringements around the Railway Station would also be removed to bring the newly constructed building forward and in open for viewing its beauty.Major (Retd) Muhammad Arshad—Project Manager National Logistics Cell informed the meeting that the Railway Station building would be given over to the Pakistan Railways once the construction work is completed which is expected to complete by the 30th of April this year.He further informed that sixty-five percent of work has been completed with an approximate cost of rupees 278.4 million. The construction work is undergoing at the site in two-shifts.The meeting was briefed that rupees one hundred and forty-seven million would be spent on the civil works, rupees 11.135 million on the electric work, rupees 4.93 on the water supply, rupees 113.7 million on the outer platform road and parking area while rupees 1.6 million would be spent on the landscaping and renovation of the Railway Station.Recently this was in news that the Pakistan Railways would be introducing a new computerized system for ticket examination by the end of this month which would be a replacement of the current manual system.The Railway department is under continuous progress and development may that be the overhaul of the railway reservation offices or may it be the launch of new train services or may it be the introduction of local district trains, etc., development activities are recurrently being noticed.
