CM announces to convene donors conference in December/

KARACHI, Nov 03 :Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah in order to provide best services particularly in services sector has decided to convene donor agencies conference in Islamabad in the second week of December. He said this while talking to Gregory Hunger Assistant Administrator USAID who called on him at Chief Minister House along with Grace Shelton US Consul General Karachi, Jerry Bisson, Mission Director USAID and Oghale Oddo, Deputy Mission Director USAID Karachi. The Health Minister Dr Sikandar Mandhro, Chairman P&D Mohammad Waseem and Principal Secretary to CM Sohail Rajput also attended the meeting, said a statement issued here Friday. The chief minister said that USAID has made some commendable interventions in health, education and municipal services sectors in Sindh but still there are various other areas where the provincial government needs support of the donor agencies. The chief minister told the visiting assistant administrator USAID that he was going to convene donors conference in Islamabad in which donor agencies, ambassadors and private sector partners and potential partners would be invited. Through different presentations the provincial government would highlight the sectors and gaps where interventions of the participants would be required for next 10 to 15 years, he said. Talking about gaps in different sectors, Syed Murad Ali Shah said that with the assistance of donors the nutrition programme was in progress in eight districts. It can be extended to other districts too, he remarked. Murad said that the developed countries have introduced latest technologies to increase yield. There is a dire need to train growers particularly the small ones. Gregory Hunger appreciated the efforts of the chief minister for serving the people particularly of backward areas.
